About
Vendome is a town of just under 20,000 residents on the Loire River in the picturesque Loir Valley about 130 miles southwest of Paris. The Count de Rochambeau who led 6,000 French troops in the American Revolution, here on the Peninsula, was born in Vendome. In the late 1980s, Hampton and Vendome had an active student exchange program. Vendome and Hampton have been sister cities since about 1980.
Volunteer to Work with the Vendome Coordinating Committee
Planning activities to celebrate the culture of a sister city, hosting visitors from a sister city, or taking a trip to visit a sister city all require a huge effort from several dedicated volunteers. If you have an interest in the culture, history or people of France, please join Sister Cities of Hampton and volunteer to serve on the Vendome Coordinating Committee.
